Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the injection molding process parameters to improve product quality, minimize cycle time, and reduce scrap rates.
Tooling and Equipment Management: Manage the maintenance, repair, and replacement of injection molds, dies, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the implementation of new injection molding projects, including tooling design, process development, validation, and production ramp-up.
Material Selection and Handling: Work closely with suppliers to select appropriate materials for injection molding applications, manage inventory of raw materials, and ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent contamination or degradation.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including process parameters, inspection results, and production reports. Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve production issues, equipment malfunctions, and quality defects using systematic problem-solving methodologies such as root cause analysis and corrective action/preventive action (CAPA).
Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to production operators on injection molding processes, equipment operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure alignment of production processes with customer requirements and organizational goals.
