Senior Enterprise Identity & Access Management Engineer

To support this vision, Careem is looking for a Senior Enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer to join an agile team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise IAM services including Okta, SailPoint, Thycotic, and CyberArk. This role involves onboarding new and existing applications, driving technical innovation, and collaborating closely with Infrastructure, IT, Compliance, and Legal teams to build secure and scalable IAM systems within a remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain a world-class enterprise IAM infrastructure aligned with business goals to enable continued growth.
- Implement, maintain, and modernize Careem’s IAM systems to ensure wide adoption, security, compliance, and an excellent user experience for colleagues.
- Address business and colleague experience challenges through effective use of technology.
- Contribute to shaping the identity architecture and strategic decisions as the company evolves.
- Make independent technical decisions and advocate for their adoption across teams and departments.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various functions including Infrastructure, IT, Compliance, and Legal.
- Mentor junior team members to support their technical growth and development.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience with enterprise or corporate IAM systems.
- Strong understanding of authentication protocols and implementations such as SSO, OAuth2, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing IAM solutions using vendor products like Okta and SailPoint.
- Practical knowledge of cloud IAM systems, including AWS Directory Services and cloud identity management.
- Proven ability to develop and implement future vision and roadmaps for identity, authentication, and authorization.
- Expertise in designing secure, seamless access systems that support internal operations while maintaining stability and security.
- Passion for automation with proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, along with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience managing Privileged Access Management (PAM) systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory IAM controls such as SOx and GDPR.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Experience working in hyper-growth e-commerce or technology environments.
