Essential Responsibilities
- Facilitate and supervise all PPM laboratories including model labs for TB diagnosis according to the national guidelines.
- Facilitate the lab technicians and Xpert-Incharge for all relevant laboratory procedures and guidelines pre-requisite for effective and timely TB diagnosis.
- Review the lab performance and ensure that External Quality Assurance mechanism is in place.
- Make periodic field visits to provide supportive supervision to the lab personal as per analysis of lab indicators to enhance performance. Share field visit findings and recommendations with Technical Advisor PPM and Quality Assurance Coordinator
- Participate in DLS days as and when required
- Facilitate the lab staff for reporting and recording of patient information as per guidelines and to update the TB04 register.
- Sharing of feedback with lab staff and implementing partners as per analyzed findings and identified gapes for rectification.
- To participate in quarterly review meetings for data validation and discuss the lab performance, indicators and ensure the rechecking of slides as per identified protocol for EQA process.
- To review monthly and quarterly microscopy performance report
- Ensure that bio-safety and bio-security guidelines are followed by labs.
- To ensure timely procurement and distribution of lab related equipment including microscopes, butter papers, CAD4TB licenses etc.
- Any other task assigned by the supervisor

Reports Directly To: Quality Assurance Coordinator
Works Directly With: Technical Advisors, Senior Technical Officers
Minimum Qualification & Skills
- MSc Microbiology / MSc Medical Technology, with at least 3 Years’ experience of working in Microbiology
- Experience of basic principles, practices in the fields of microbiology, quality assurance procedures applicable to a Mycobacteriology is desirable
- Experience of supervising TB microscopy labs will be preferred
