Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity & quality goals.
- Participate in recruiting, training and management of staff.
- Ensure patients are admitted in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide case management services.
- Develop and achieve departmental goals and objectives by gathering patient, demographic, insurance and financial information.
- Manage bed availability and occupancy to maximize bed occupancy.
- Reduce admissions conflicts and discrepancies.
- Perform regular audits to ensure proper handling and accuracy of all patient data to ensure revenue for hospital.
- Communicate with patients, their families, proxies and admitting staff to ensure rules, regulations and procedures are followed.
- Improve delivery of patient care by integrating admissions procedures with other care staff, including working with various hospital departments.
- Adhere to and upholds local, state, ISO and JCIA policies.
- Continuously work to achieve hospital goals.
- Accept ownership for actions and decisions, accomplishments and actively explores new opportunities on the job to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Perform Admission, Discharge, Cash collection, financial counseling and billing functions where required.
