Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Support and maintain network hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, load balancers, switches, wifi controllers, and firewalls.
· Design, architect and troubleshoot routing topologies with MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRFs, etc.
· Design, architect and troubleshoot switching topologies with Trunks, EtherChannels, Spanning Tree, DHCP Snooping, ARP inspection, etc
· Remotely Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints
· Provide network incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration and troubleshooting
· Provide network documentation
· Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
· Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and suggest solutions
· Manage incidents and tasks in ticketing system
· Work closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices
· Remain current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available.
· Perform network security design and integration
· Perform other tasks as requested
Qualifications:
· B.A. or B.S. in a technical field or a relevant combination of education and experience
· CCIE or CCNP required
· 5+ years of expertise in implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, controllers, and monitoring applications
· Intermediate to expert understanding of several different platforms of firewall configuration and maintenance
· Intermediate to expert with configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and supporting Networking equipment (routers, switches, etc)
· Wireless (WiFi) equipment
· Comfortable documenting and explaining network topologies
· Understand and diagram existing networks
· Diagram and explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
· Intermediate to expert with 802.1q VLANs and working within industry best practices
· Experience maintaining an enterprise level infrastructure, including fiber optic and wireless technologies
· Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and possess an understanding of how to support these applications / protocols when accessed through VPN, load balancers and firewall appliances.
