Software Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our Hyderabad team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in CA-7 or equivalent scheduling applications, JCL, and batch monitoring to support production processes effectively. This role plays a vital part in maintaining business continuity by providing production support, IT infrastructure maintenance, and first-line support during business hours. The position requires working onsite and involves close collaboration with multiple teams to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of any production issues.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly job streams to maintain schedules as required by application owners. Utilize strong Unix Shell scripting skills to support production processes and access Unix/Linux environments to verify mainframe file transfer protocols. Monitor all production systems to ensure jobs complete successfully and run in the correct sequence, adhering to schedules and check-off sheets. Coordinate end-user requests for ad hoc jobs, special production runs, and the implementation of new applications or procedures, ensuring they run on specific timetables to achieve desired outcomes. Assist in troubleshooting, following up, and resolving processing abends. Analyze production abends that prevent daily schedules from completing and collaborate with end users to resolve issues promptly. Report daily work status, problems, and projects, communicating all relevant scheduling information to involved groups.

Required Qualifications
Strong expertise in CA-7 batch monitoring and scheduling techniques within a multiplatform environment or equivalent scheduling tools is essential. Extensive knowledge of batch processing and experience resolving batch abends such as SB-37, SE-37, catalog issues, and JCL errors, including providing immediate fixes and submitting jobs via CA-7/CA11. Proficiency with TSO, ISPF, FileAID, and SPOOL utilities is required. Solid Unix Shell scripting skills and experience with Endevor or other version control tools are necessary. Familiarity with service management applications such as Service-Now is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate proven decision-making ability to make timely decisions that support organizational progress. Effective communication skills tailored to diverse audiences and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build client relationships and rapport are also important.
