Group Head - Treasury & Markets

The Bank of Punjab is one of the leading banks of Pakistan with a large network of over 800+ online branches including Islamic Banking branches across Pakistan. BOP invites applications from high-caliber, seasoned professionals for the following position in its Treasury & Markets Group, Karachi

Grade: EVP/SEVP

Location: Karachi

Job Summary / Major Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for Operational, Planning, Control/ Management and Compliance of Treasury, Equity Capital Markets, Islamic Banking Treasury and Research functions with an emphasis to measure and keep market risk exposure at desirable levels.

Operational

Reviewing strategy of the Treasury and Equity Capital Markets functions in line with the Banks budgeted targets.
Pursuing optimal level of profitability for the Bank from all Treasury & Capital Markets Group activities while adhering to internal guidelines and external regulatory framework.
Supervise/ Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.
Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
Advise management on the liquidity aspects of its short- and long- range planning.
Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over Treasury and ECM activities.
Responsible for the clearance of all Internal/External Audits.
Responsible for implementing decision of Bank’s ALCO.

Planning, Control & Management

Responsible for supervision and management of the group.
To set team objectives, including revenue targets.
Develop strategy to meet the profit targets agreed with the President & CEO as per approved Budget.
Responsible for leading and motivating teams to ensure pre-established goals delivery.

Compliance

SBP Prudential & other regulations.
BoP’s SOPs & PR.

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification: Graduate / Post Graduate from a HEC recognized University / Foreign University. Candidates having international certifications in HR will have added advantage.

Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience including 5 years at a similar position/ role.

Age: Up to 55 Years as of April 2, 2024.

Note:

The candidate should be eligible under FPT criteria of State Bank of Pakistan.

The position demands highly motivated, result oriented individual with demonstrated experience & leadership skills and well-versed with applicable rules and regulations.
