Senior Back End / Full Stack Developer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join us at Visa Lobby UK (job will be remote as of now).

Required Skills & Professional Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Backend Developer PHP.
Minimum of 3 years of experience using Laravel Framework.
Minimum of 4 years of experience using MongoDB NOSQL, MySQL DB.
Minimum of 3 years of experience using Cloud technology like AWS.
Working experience with RESTful APIs Redis caching, pub sub, etc Micro-service architecture experience decomposition of monolithic application NodeJS, Python are Plus.
5-6 years of commercial development experience using PHP
Experience in building and maintaining websites, applications and API’s using Laravel
Understanding of front-end technologies, such as Vue.js
Comfortable with GitHub and the gitflow model
Can use ORM’s to access data but also know how to drop down to SQL statements if needed
Clear ability to work in teams, contribute to technical decisions and deliver exciting new products to the world
Possess a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Able to work independently but know when to ask for help
Document all code and features for maintainability
Beneficial if had previous experience building a social media interaction web site with functionalities as follow, like comments, feeds, chats, voice notes, calls, discussion forums etc

General Skills

Solid understanding of data structures, coding standards & best practices.
Able to perform performance evaluation and optimization.
Understand the performance and scalability of cloud systems.
Strong experience in CI CD tools Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, SVN Experience with Agile SCRUM methodology for product development

Role Responsibilities:

Build and manage our PHP(Laravel) sites
Contribute new features to our PHP(Laravel) sites
Maintaining our internal tools (PHP) and the API’s that power them
Ensure APIs are providing accurate and reliable data to sites at all times
Ensure uptime and availability around key events
Assist with releases and deployments multiple times per day
Work with global team and comfortable with slack, zoom pair programming remotely
