Material Engineer

Vista Group is seeking a highly skilled Material Engineer to join our innovative team. The individual will play a critical role in advancing our projects by assessing materials engineering requirements, identifying new materials, and optimizing material properties to meet design specifications. With a minimum of six years of relevant experience, this role demands expertise in materials characterization, failure analysis, and process engineering, ensuring that the materials used in our products achieve superior performance and reliability. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic development within the company, driving forward our mission in a dynamic and collaborative environment, while not holding responsibilities for managing a team.
Responsibilities

Conduct thorough materials testing and characterization to evaluate material properties and performance under varying conditions.
Develop and implement materials selection protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
Perform failure analysis on materials and components, identifying root causes and providing solutions to mitigate future issues.
Utilize analytical chemistry techniques to assess material composition and behavior, ensuring optimal performance in end-use applications.
Engage in polymer science research to innovate and improve polymer-based materials for enhanced application.
Employ computer-aided design (CAD) tools, including SolidWorks, to assist in the modeling of materials and components for construction and development projects.
Implement finite element analysis (FEA) to simulate material behavior, ensuring designs are feasible and reliable.
Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize material usage, reduce waste, and enhance production efficiency.
Conduct statistical analysis to interpret data from experiments and testing, aiding in informed decision-making regarding material selections.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align materials engineering efforts with project goals and timelines.
Stay updated with advancements in materials science, integrating new findings into project processes and methodologies.
Document testing results, methodologies, and recommendations in detailed reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to elevate material engineering practices within the organization.
