Sr. WordPress Developer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to join our team. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining WordPress websites, as well as implementing front-end development solutions. You will collaborate closely with our design and development teams to deliver high-quality and visually appealing websites that meet client requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in WordPress development, front-end languages, and an understanding of design principles.

Key Responsibilities:  

WordPress Development: Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins using best practices and coding standards. Implement new features and functionality, troubleshoot issues, and optimize website performance.

Front-End Development: Translate design mockups into interactive and responsive websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery. Ensure cross-browser compatibility and seamless user experiences across various devices and platforms.

Theme and Plugin Customization: Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements. Modify existing functionality, integrate third-party APIs, and create custom features as needed.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with designers, developers, and project managers to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and contribute to the overall development process. Collaborate on ideation, planning, and execution of web development projects.

Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve website issues, ensuring optimal performance, functionality, and user experience. Perform code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to development standards.

Performance Optimization: Optimize website speed, performance, and scalability through efficient coding practices, caching techniques, image optimization, and other performance optimization strategies.

Security and Maintenance: Implement security best practices to safeguard WordPress websites from vulnerabilities. Perform regular updates, backups, and maintenance tasks to ensure website stability and security.

Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to WordPress development, front-end development, and web design. Share knowledge and insights with the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Extensive experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development, WordPress API, and database management.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and responsive design.
• Strong understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility guidelines.
• Experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g., Sass, LESS) and front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g., Bootstrap, React, Angular) is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and familiarity with build tools and task runners (e.g., Gulp, Webpack) is preferred.
• Solid understanding of SEO principles and implementation best practices.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
