Call Center Agent / Truck Dispatcher

This job opening is seeking a detail-oriented Call Center Agent / Truck Dispatcher to dispatch drivers and handle customer communication, route planning and driver scheduling for the delivery or collection of freight, shipments, and packages. The ideal candidate should have experience in dispatching trucks, the ability to work under pressure and excellent organizational skills to ensure exceptional freight delivery services.

Responsibilities

The job of a truck dispatcher involves scheduling drivers to deliver or collect freight, communicating with customers about freight details and special requests
Planning and adjusting routes, preparing dispatch documents, and maintaining records of delivery and pickup times.
The role also involves monitoring driver logs, truck maintenance schedules, and customer shipping schedules and complaints, while ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and laws.

Requirements

Minimum 6 months of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry.
Bachelor's or associate degree in transportation or logistics would be advantageous.
Exceptional ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and dispatch drivers to customer locations.
Extensive experience in customer services, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS), such as Samsara and Rose Rocket.
Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express.
Ability to monitor drivers' logs, truck maintenance schedules, and repairs.
Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
