As a Knitting Merchandiser, you will be responsible for managing the merchandising activities related to knitted products. You will collaborate closely with various departments such as design, production, quality control, and sales to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality knitted goods that meet client requirements and company standards. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements, providing updates on production progress, and addressing any concerns or inquiries they may have.

Order Processing: Coordinate with the production team to process and schedule orders for knitted products, ensuring adherence to delivery deadlines and production capacity.

Sample Development: Work with the design and production teams to develop knitted product samples according to client specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality in design, materials, and construction.

Costing and Pricing: Prepare cost estimates and pricing proposals for knitted products, considering factors such as material costs, labor expenses, overheads, and profit margins.

Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that knitted products meet specified standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of production.

Supply Chain Management: Manage the procurement of raw materials and components required for knitted product manufacturing, ensuring timely availability and cost-effectiveness.

Production Planning: Develop production plans and schedules in collaboration with the production team to optimize workflow, minimize lead times, and maximize resource utilization.

Logistics and Shipping: Coordinate logistics and shipping arrangements for knitted product shipments, including transportation, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery scheduling.

Market Research and Trend Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments related to knitted products. Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and business growth.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of orders, production activities, inventory levels, and sales transactions. Generate reports summarizing key metrics, performance indicators, and business insights.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, merchandising, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in merchandising, production planning, or supply chain management, preferably in the textile or apparel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of knitting processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of quality management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations and logistics procedures is a plus.
