The role of an Manager Import is one that requires a great deal of attention to detail. They are responsible for overseeing the entire Importing/exporting process, from beginning to end. This includes everything from sourcing raw materials and supplies to shipping products overseas and ensuring they arrive in good condition. The manager must be able to juggle multiple tasks at once while keeping track of all relevant information. They may also need to interact with vendors or suppliers on a regular basis to ensure their company has access to the best possible resources.
• Understand and comply with all laws and regulations governing the import/export of goods in the country.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tariffs, quotas, and other restrictions that may affect the companys ability to import/export goods.
• Develop and implement strategies to minimize the impact of these restrictions on the company.
• Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third parties to ensure that shipments are processed smoothly and in compliance with all laws and regulations.
• Prepare and submit required documentation to government agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor shipments to ensure that they are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
• Resolve any issues that may arise during the course of shipment and manage LC Opening.
• Keep abreast of developments in the import/export industry specifically Steel and identify new opportunities for the company.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Manage compile and submission of any document required import requirements by Bank.
