We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chemical Engineer specializing in industrial furnaces, ceramics production, and refractory materials. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing high-temperature processes, ensuring quality control, and enhancing furnace efficiency. This position involves hands-on work with refractory lining, ceramic formulation, and thermal processing, requiring a deep understanding of material behavior under extreme temperatures and the application of industrial chemical engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, monitor, and optimize thermal processes involving industrial furnaces to improve operational efficiency.
- Select, test, and implement appropriate refractory materials for furnace linings, ensuring durability and performance.
- Develop and refine ceramic formulations tailored for high-temperature environments.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of refractory linings in kilns and furnaces, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor thermal efficiency and implement strategies to reduce heat loss and energy consumption.
- Ensure the chemical and mechanical integrity of refractory and ceramic components throughout their lifecycle.
- Conduct root cause analysis to investigate refractory failures or degradation and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and R&D teams to assess material performance and process improvements.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and quality regulations relevant to high-temperature operations.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science.
- At least 3 years of practical experience working with industrial furnaces, ceramics, and refractory materials.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and material behavior at elevated temperatures.
- Proven expertise in selecting, installing, and evaluating refractory materials for industrial applications.
- Familiarity with ceramic processing techniques, including sintering and kiln operations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols in high-temperature industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience in the metallurgical or glass industries is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ISO standards related to refractory materials and ceramic testing is an advantage.
- Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, ANSYS, or process simulation software is a plus.
- This is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive monthly salary range of Rs150,000 to Rs200,000.
