Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (DXB)

1. The Senior Technical Quality Assurance Engineer, supports the Principal Quality Assurance
2. Engineer, by coordinating business, technical and quality criteria within the delivery.
3. They not only assist the software engineering team in executing the designed test strategy for their product area, but they also assist the product ownder in assuring the most optimal user journey.
4. Their primary focus is to understand the business domain both operationally and technically, to provide context to the tests and QA activities they carry out.
5. The QA Engineer will be technically skilled in software engineering and testing practices and be experienced at critical systems thinking.
6. The role executes and co-ordinates end to end (E2E) business process, volume, performance, UAT and Optional tests in a variety of delivery models, from waterfall to multiple sprint teams in support of the portfolio release trains. He/she is an excellent collaborator and communicator which enables them to coordinate and execute day to day activities.
7. They are an excellent communicators, with the ability to communicate with technical colleagues as well business colleagues in equal measure.
8. They are a big believer in collaboration in order to coordinate and drive scalable quality solutions making you critical to enabling faster delivery with demonstrable business outcomes.

Job accountabilities

1. Working closely with project members, technical product owners, architects and softwar engineers to understand the complete context of deliveries to translate complex functional and non-functional requirements in robust end 2 end tests which exercise the business process.

2. Working with the Technology QA Core team ensure non production environments and test data is available to support end 2 end tests.

3. Liase with other release train teams to manage the testing of cross dependencies.

4. Ensure Test Tools are configured correctly and accurately to support the collection of metrics for program and enterprise wide dashboards.

5. Support and guide Software Engineers to write and maintain automated functional tests through continuous integration.

6. Implement, maintain and adapt automation frameworks, and Test harnesses to make end to end tests robust.

7. Ensure Quality Gate requirements are understood by the team and are met.

8. Support and enable demonstrable software for User Acceptance Testing

9. Support and engage during the operational acceptance testing phase

10. Support the Quality Assurance Engineering Manager in the coordination of major migrations activities covering data loads, data migrations, cut over activities across multiple domains and environments ensuring no customer or business impact.

11. Contribute to the quality engineering playbook for use by relevant people in information technology.

12. Play an active role in sprint/work design and planning by providing subject matter expertise on business domain.

13. Contribute to the Technology Quality Assurance Community of Practice.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.

Technical skills:

1. 8+ years in quality related roles with increasing responsibility, impact, and scope within a digital or ecommerce environment

2. 3+ years of experience as a Software Quality Engineering lead or equivalent position looking after multiple products

3. Can work in fast paced environment while ensuring product and business goals are achieved

4. Strong organisational, coordination and sequencing skills.

5. Experience in providing product input on business process flows and scenario mapping for business solutions.

6. Experience of understanding and applying system thinking to advanced technology solutions for large, complex organisations in a multi-functional environment.

7. Strong expertise with context driven and exploratory testing with practical experience of using a number of testing heuristics

8. Experience working with VMs and containers both on prem and cloud offerings like Amazon and google cloud

9. Experience with creating and maintaining large scale test data frameworks to support test automation

10. Highly experienced with developing automation frameworks from scratch built for UI and API testing and integration with CI pipelines

11. Proficiency in at least 2 different programming languages, preferably JavaScript and Java

12. Experienced with coding best practices and defining coding guidelines

13. Aware of the latest testing and technology trends and using them to improve daily practices

1. Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrable experience communicating cross-functionally with architects and product owners in formal and informal settings

2. Experienced with leading a team of engineers to achieve product and business goals
