China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation (CZEC), an economic entity directly affiliated to China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), was established as an enterprise for international economic and technological cooperation on April 25th, 1983 upon the approval of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. Its headquarter locates in Beijing. CZEC restructured itself to a limited corporation in accordance with the Company Law of the People\'s Republic of China in November, 2007.CZEC is the main channel of CNNC in the construction of international nuclear engineering projects, the pilot of the China nuclear power development in the overseas market.
CZEC has blazed the trail for exporting China nuclear power products to the world and undertaken quite some large-sized nuclear projects and civil engineering projects both at home and aboard. The perfect technology and top quality service of CZEC brand have won reputations in the international nuclear power market. CZEC has been ranked among the Top 225 International Contractors for years in success since 1996 by the authoritative magazine Engineering New Record (ENR) published in the USA.
CZEC possesses the Qualification of Foreign Engineering Project Contracting and the Qualification of Foreign Labor Cooperation issued by the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, 4 Grade A Qualifications of General Contractor of Domestic Construction Project and 3 Grade B Qualifications of General Contractor of Domestic Construction Project issued by the Ministry of Construction of the PRC, and Grade 3 Qualification of property management.
Algeria Nuclear Research Center with a 15MWe Heavy Water Research Reactor (MHWRR) is the first exported nuclear project of large-scale in China and also the first step that CZEC struggled under the support of arduous pioneering spirit on the road of its refulgent course. The project has been in the leading position in the world for its technical specification, safety performance and easy operation. This indicates that the nuclear research technology of China is stepping into the advanced level of the world. The project has introduced China nuclear industry to the world for the first time in history，enhanced China\'s international status as a nuclear nation, and earned China and its nuclear industry a good reputation. The project was awarded the first Prize of National Science and Technology Progress in 1996.
CZEC has successfully completed the construction of Pakistan Chashma NPP Phase I&Ⅱ Project in turn-key mode. The IAEA as well as the Governments of Pakistan and China deem highly of the sound operation of the plant, which witnesses the substantial cooperation of the two countries in the field of peaceful utilization of nuclear energy on basis of traditional friendship and stands as an epitome of south-south cooperation for all the developing countries. China became the 8th Nuclear Power Plant exporter in the world, and proved its worth in this field.
