We are seeking a technically proficient Customer Engineer to join our Engineering team and act as a crucial link between Engineering and Go-to-Market (GTM) groups such as Sales Engineering, Professional Services, and Enablement. This role, embedded within the Development organization, focuses on supporting GTM teams in understanding, configuring, and deploying our Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platform. While not directly customer-facing, the position requires a strong technical grasp of the product and associated technologies to provide thorough support throughout pre-sales and post-sales phases. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a solid technical background who want to stay close to technology without engaging in traditional software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical liaison between Engineering and GTM teams by delivering product knowledge, tooling assistance, setup, and deployment support.
- Work closely with Engineering to understand new features, deployment requirements, and system behaviors, then translate these insights into actionable documentation, enablement materials, demo environments, and internal tools.
- Assist with the internal setup and deployment of DSPM components, including Kubernetes-based microservices, data connectors, and APIs, while validating staging and demo environments.
- Create and maintain internal technical resources such as playbooks, integration guides, architecture diagrams, and enablement content to support field teams.
- Provide support to GTM teams on API usage, scripting (e.g., Python), and basic troubleshooting, particularly during proof-of-concept or pilot projects.
- Read, interpret, and occasionally modify basic code or configuration files to facilitate debugging and integration efforts.
- Validate deployment workflows across cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure, ensuring they align with field practices and requirements.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical role within engineering or product-focused environments such as developer support, sales enablement, quality assurance, or technical consulting.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud-native technology stacks, including Kubernetes, containerized services, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), and data infrastructure components like SQL, data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Proficiency in basic scripting languages such as Python or shell scripting for automation, API interaction, and integration testing.
- Ability to read and comprehend application code and configuration files (e.g., Python, YAML, JSON) to assist with troubleshooting and deployment workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for internal enablement and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Familiarity with DSPM, CSPM, or related data security and privacy tools.
- Experience in sales engineering enablement, solution delivery, or product support roles.
- Exposure to DevOps tools such as Helm, Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of compliance or risk management frameworks like SOC 2 or GDPR.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments or with distributed technical teams.
This role offers a unique opportunity to remain embedded within the Engineering organization while playing a vital part in enabling go-to-market success. It allows for deep technical engagement with modern cloud-native infrastructure, APIs, and data systems without the demands of full-time coding. The position provides high visibility and cross-functional impact across product, engineering, and field teams, making it an excellent fit for professionals who enjoy solving technical challenges, enabling others, and working with cutting-edge security technology.
