Database Developer

Huntington Business Systems (HBS), a division of Contour, specializes in Time and Attendance Management Software, offering customizable cloud-based solutions to manage complex payroll policies and reduce organizational costs and risks. To strengthen the HBS division, Contour is looking for an experienced SQL Database Developer with strong Oracle PL/SQL skills and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. This role is based in Karachi and involves close collaboration with the R&D team.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop complex SQL and Oracle PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to meet application requirements.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and schema refinement.
- Create and manage database jobs, including automated notifications for process failures.
- Apply hands-on knowledge of the .NET Framework and C# for database-related development tasks.
- Monitor and maintain database health, performance, and security, including regular backups and recovery procedures.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery solutions to ensure data availability.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for seamless data integration across multiple systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for source control, automated builds, and deployment pipelines.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to establishing best practices for database development.

Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems such as SQL Server or Oracle.
- Strong understanding of Oracle databases, including database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Skilled in writing optimized T-SQL and PL/SQL queries.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure VMs; knowledge of Azure Oracle Linux VMs is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in database development and administration.
