Reports to: Chief Medical Officer.

Job Summary: Evercare Hospital Lahore, a project of Gate Healthcare 1 Pak (Private) Limited is an emerging 270 bedded multi-specialty facility located in Lahore, Pakistan. The hospital which will be commencing operations in Q1 2018, is part of an international healthcare group whose mission is to provide quality healthcare to the aspiring middle classes in Pakistan, through investment in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers.

Manager Pharmacy is responsible for the overall operational and strategic management including managing, directing, planning and coordinating operation and management of the Pharmacy Department. Provide facilitation and administrative leadership by directly supervising the functions of the Pharmacy department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Knowledge of inventory management, dispensing systems, medication procurement, central pharmacy operations and manage the budget in line to ensure best use of resources to maximize patient care.

· Coordination of activities related to pharmacy inventory and logistics including purchasing, inventory management, vendor relations, wholesaler, manufacturers, regulatory requirements for purchasing activities, reverse distribution.

· Responsible for ensuring efficient processes related to medication management.

· Oversees and supports talent development of the senior team members to ensure succession planning, mentorship and coaching within the departments.

· Develops, implements, and evaluates short and long term goals, objectives, policies and procedures to ensure consistency with organizational goals.

· Review, update and ensure compliance of the departmental policies and procedures viz a viz Joint Commission/ISO.

· Ensures implementation and continuous monitoring of Departmental KPI’s and objectives.

· Determine fiscal requirements of the department and prepare budgetary recommendations.

· Development of strategic plans for the pharmacy services to ensure the services provided are progressive, responsive to internal & external demand, patient focused, efficient and effective.

· Establish procedures and quality specification for all drugs and chemicals used in the in accordance with the recommendations of P&T Committee.

· To liaise with nursing and medical staff to ensure that the clinical services reflect the needs of all users of the pharmacy services. To ensure that the pharmacy service is focused on the needs of the patients.

· Enhances operational effectiveness through attention to detail and execution.

· Help to develop a culture and environment where safe and high quality patient care is consistently delivered across the organization

· Reviews and analyzes statistical data to enhance productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Uses results to expand services and improve operations.

· Handling customer complaints; patient care issues, problems and concerns and take corrective action where necessary.

· Any additional task assigned by the CMO or CEO.

Eligibility Criteria:

· Masters, B. pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy, licensed by Pharmacy Council Pakistan (PCP)

· Total 10 -15 years of experience. (At least 05 years of managerial experience in a similar role)

· Understanding of the broader strategic and policy context for delivery of health services.

· Extensive leadership and operational management experience in a medium/large acute healthcare provider setting

· Facilitation and team building skills.

· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

· Strong analytical & critical reasoning skills.

· Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
