1. Develop & keep updated proper Store, Import and Logistics System in shape of SOPs & supportive documents and ensure its compliance and implementation through ERP.
  2. Lead Procurement, Store, Import and logistics teams and ensure the development of a System in light of the company’s needs.
  3. Monitor communication with Shipping agents / Customs Authorities / Clearing agents / Transporters for shipment’s operation, intervene wherever needed and / or where Import team cannot handle the task.
  4. Responsible to monitor communication of import staff with concerned department to update them regarding LC opening, advance payments, shipments, vessel arrival, shipping documents, custom clearance and goods receipt status at mills.
  5. Ensure that the import staff is working efficiently by utilizing the services at most competitive rates within the required budgets and timelines without causing any demurrage / storage charges or delays and ensure that only appropriate duties and taxes are charged.
  6. Manage timely delivery of products to overseas customers in best possible way with involvement of minimum cost, time, and best available resources.
  7. Ensure booking of shipments and placement of containers with freight forwarders as well as shipping lines.
  8. Monitor coordination with transporters for timely arrival of goods at sea ports / airports / dry ports / and coordination with clearing agents for clearance of export consignments within budget and target time.
  9. Ensure that the Logistics staff is working efficiently by utilizing the services at most competitive rates within the required timelines for Export and Import Items.
  10. Monitoring / Handling of all kinds of incoming and outgoing logistic movements of imports & exports through logistics team and make sure that all targets are achieved as per plan.
  11. Review / Update Manuals, SOPs, Procedures, Controls for Procurement to Reduce Cost of Procurement, Induct Multiple vendors for each Major item to increase bargaining power, Reduce Quality defects at inspection Stage and Ensure timelines.
  12. Regularly monitor the progress on procurement and orders according to procurement plan and check the status of orders in progress through Team Lead Procurement.
  13. Responsible for the procurement of quality efficient items at competitive prices through his team and self-interventions.
  14. Monitor the daily coordination with the stores regarding the stock of items in store as per re-order level.
  15. Responsible to ensure that all Store In-Charges counts, measures and weighs the stock properly at time of receiving and make the goods receipt or internal related document.
  16. Correspond with units and resolve any supply shortage issues on priority.
