- Understand Medicare and Medicaid rates
- Knowledge of EOBs and contractual allowable amounts
- Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare coverage
- Knowledge of Rhode Island and Massachusetts insurance eligibility and benefits
- Assist with answering billing calls
- Knowledge of NGS Connex*, Claim Shuttle, and Medicaid websites
- Extended knowledge of the Appeals process through the Connex portal.
- Appeals process, rules, and regulations for each insurance
- Knowledge of Timely Filing limits for each insurance
- General customer service skills
- Scanning and attaching documents
- Authorizations
- Electronic Claims Submissions
- Hospice
