Reports to: Community Development Officer
Job Purpose: As part of the WASH intervention, to safeguard and improve the public health of the affected population by promoting safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and maintenance of WASH facilities and services; ensuring appropriate community involvement in the design and delivery of essential WASH services and facilities; ensuring effective coordination and integration of Hygiene Promotion activities with the delivery of water and sanitation services and facilities.
Key Accountabilities:
The job holder is accountable for fulfilling his / her roles and responsibilities in line with Islamic values and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty, respect and fair treatment of his/her colleagues and team members.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Technical
- Formation of hygiene WASH club in the project area as per need.
- Identification of key hygiene practices to be addressed and sectors of the population with whom to engage and develop an appropriate communications strategy to promote safe practices. Identification, or facilitation, of community structures through which the WASH activities can be implemented.
- Carrying out multiple assessments in the flood-affected areas along with the technical team.
- Ensure the Right holders’ selection procedure and understood the criteria.
- Support the MEAL team in needs assessment/baseline surveys for data collection in the project areas.
- Inform the Right holders for distribution.
- Fill in all the relevant documents at the distribution.
- Resolve conflict among the target community through effective dialogues.
- Conduct health & Hygiene sessions in communities, schools, healthcare centers, and at the household level.

- Proper record keeping of project activities at the community & office level both in soft & hard form.
- Develop case studies to reflect project impacts.
- Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Ensure the timely submission of technical and activities reports.

- Perform any task assigned by the supervisor as and when required.
Public Relations / Media
- Support the media team in the development of constructive working relationships with media representatives to build an international and public profile and ensure positive coverage and the timely provision of situation reports and fundraising material to the organization.
Safety and Security
- Liaise with the district supply chain officer to ensure compliance with organization Security Guidelines and their effective application in the local context;
- Monitor the operational environment with respect to an increased level of threat and advise the SPO/District Coordinator and organization Security Officer/Security Focal person.
- Follow the appropriate communications means to meet operational and security requirements;
Administration
- Ensure that administrative support functions are supported in accordance with the organization’s administrative policies and procedures;
- Ensure compliance with district/area/country legal, contractual, labor and statutory requirements.
Financial Management and Planning
- Assist PO/SPO in the execution of the project financial expenditures, BVA review, and reporting
- Ensure with the finance department, the maintenance of the organization’s financial protocols and accounting systems for all field interventions under the social mobilization components
Person Specification: It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its SEAH (sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. We have zero tolerance policy towards SEAH and doesn’t support any action that promote or encourage SEAH.
Qualification: Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or relevant field
Experience: Fresh – 03 Years max relevant experience
Language: Urdu, English and local languages
Computer/other Skills:
- The candidate shall be computer literate and having good skills of MS office, MS excel, and power point.
- Motivation and skill enhancement (capacity development) of communities to increase their income level
- Social mobilization for replication of the on-farm demonstrated techniques
- Arrangement for various training events of efficient techniques in different growing stages of crops
- Good interpersonal skill
Language:
- Urdu, English and local languages
