Job Summary
Better Recruitment is looking for a seasoned Business Manager to lead the Chemicals Trading division for a respected client in the petrochemicals industry. This role is based in either Lahore or Karachi, Pakistan, and demands a candidate with 8 to 10+ years of solid experience in chemicals trading within the Pakistani market. The successful applicant will have comprehensive knowledge of the entire petrochemical trading lifecycle, including sourcing, sales, profit and loss (P&L) management, and market growth strategies. This is a full-time position offering a competitive starting salary of Rs400,000 per month, complemented by benefits such as medical coverage, bi-annual bonuses, and EOBI contributions.

Key Responsibilities
The Business Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective trading strategies tailored to the Pakistani petrochemical market. This includes managing the entire trading cycle—from conducting market research, negotiating with suppliers, procurement, and logistics, to sales and after-sales support. The role carries full P&L accountability for the petrochemical trading division, requiring strong financial oversight and decision-making.

Building and nurturing robust relationships with both international and local suppliers and clients is essential to ensure a reliable supply chain and customer base. The candidate will also monitor market trends closely to maintain competitive sourcing and pricing strategies. Compliance with local trade regulations and risk management in trading operations will be critical to safeguard the company’s interests.

Leadership is a key aspect of this role. The Business Manager will recruit, train, and mentor the trading team, setting clear performance targets to drive productivity and growth. Additionally, preparing detailed trading reports, forecasts, and budgets for senior management will be part of the responsibilities to support strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 8 to 10+ years of proven experience specifically in chemicals trading within Pakistan, which is a mandatory requirement. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is required.

Strong expertise in P&L management is essential, along with a well-established network within the petrochemical trading industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent negotiation skills, sound decision-making abilities, and effective team leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP or trading systems is also necessary to efficiently manage operations and reporting.
