Job Summary
HMT is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join a client’s team remotely. The ideal candidate will be a CA Finalist or ACCA qualified professional with at least three years of experience, particularly in US taxation, financial reporting, and compliance. This role requires strong expertise in accounting, taxation, and financial management, with a focus on US GAAP standards. The position operates during night shift hours from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM CST and demands excellent English communication skills to collaborate effectively with international teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Finance Officer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and compliance reports in line with US GAAP and relevant tax regulations. Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings with accuracy and timeliness is a critical part of the role. The candidate will assist in tax planning, filings, and audits specifically for US-based entities.
Handling accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and processing payroll are also essential duties. Ensuring compliance with both local and international financial regulations is mandatory. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and SAP is necessary to maintain accurate financial records. Additionally, the Finance Officer will provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be CA Finalists or ACCA qualified professionals. A minimum of three years’ experience in finance or accounting is required, with specific exposure to US taxation. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, tax laws, and compliance requirements is essential.
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, and SAP, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, is mandatory. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective remote collaboration with international teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are also required to succeed in this role.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience working with US or international clients is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage. Familiarity with remote work tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Asana is preferred to facilitate smooth communication and project management. Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is a plus but not mandatory.
