Cloud Security Specialist

Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Cloud Security Specialist with 7 to 9 years of experience to join our Hyderabad team. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing the security strategy and architecture for cloud initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic vision, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who collaborates across multiple teams. A key focus will be promoting the ‘Everything as Code’ philosophy, enabling teams to proactively tackle cloud security challenges. This position demands a strong foundation in cloud platforms, security best practices, and the agility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of secure cloud and container architectures. Apply robust security controls and best practices across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop and support continuous monitoring solutions that validate systems against security baselines, swiftly address policy violations, and ensure compliance with established security standards.
- Identify and recommend innovative technologies to enhance process efficiency, automation, security posture, environment visibility, and developer enablement within cloud and container ecosystems.
- Collaborate closely with developers, system administrators, and IT leadership to align security controls with organizational objectives, fostering secure-by-design principles.
- Design and implement comprehensive cloud security architectures, including network security, identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and other critical controls.
- Ensure all cloud initiatives comply with relevant regulations and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Drive automation and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to streamline cloud security processes, reducing manual effort and increasing scalability.
- Create and deploy automated security solutions that enhance the effectiveness and scalability of security operations.
- Provide training and mentorship to internal teams on cloud security best practices, emerging threats, and security awareness, helping to cultivate a strong security culture.
- Analyze emerging attacker techniques and develop mitigation strategies to maintain the resilience and integrity of cloud environments.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, proactively identifying vulnerabilities and recommending risk mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty are highly desirable.
- At least seven years of experience in network, application, cloud, or infrastructure security, with a solid grasp of security principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated expertise with major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, with deep knowledge of security features like IAM, VPC, Security Groups, and encryption services.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles to architect secure network environments.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and operational best practices in cloud and container orchestration.
- Hands-on experience integrating enterprise-scale security solutions in AWS and/or Azure, including user, security, and network configurations.
- Proficiency with cloud automation tools such as Git, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins; programming skills, especially in Python, are a plus.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards including NIST, CIS, FIPS, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and FIPS 140-2.
- Solid knowledge of IT risk management, security policies, internal audit, and compliance standards; experience with SOC, FFIEC, CSA, and FedRAMP is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
