Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Manager Procurement to join our Mechanical Division at the Head Office in Lahore. The successful candidate will oversee all procurement activities related to mechanical equipment, materials, rotating and static equipment, material handling systems, HVAC, automation, control equipment, and associated services. This role demands effective management of supplier relationships and ensuring the timely, cost-efficient delivery of goods and services to various stakeholders within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute procurement strategies specifically designed for the mechanical division. Conduct comprehensive market research and supplier evaluations to identify and onboard potential vendors. Lead contract negotiations and secure favorable agreements with suppliers.
Sourcing and Procurement: Manage the sourcing of mechanical equipment such as metal pipes, sheets, parts, and materials, along with related services. Assess supplier quotations and proposals rigorously to guarantee competitive pricing and adherence to quality standards.
Supplier Management: Establish and maintain robust relationships with suppliers. Continuously monitor supplier performance and quality benchmarks, addressing any issues swiftly to maintain smooth operations.
Contract Management: Prepare, review, and administer contracts with suppliers, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled. Manage contract renewals and amendments through effective negotiation and compliance oversight.
Cost Control and Budgeting: Oversee procurement budgets, track expenditures, and analyze costs to identify opportunities for savings. Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining the quality and reliability of procured goods and services.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable regulations and internal company policies. Identify procurement-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization.
Team Management: Lead and collaborate with the buyer team, fostering a cooperative work environment. Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development initiatives for team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in mechanical procurement, preferably within a reputable engineering firm.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with material sourcing markets relevant to mechanical equipment.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
