Job Summary
The Production & Operations Manager – LV/MV Panels at HRA Switchgear Private Limited, Pakistan, will oversee the entire manufacturing lifecycle of Low, Medium, and High Voltage switchgear panels. This pivotal role ensures the timely delivery of high-quality products while strictly complying with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. The manager will be responsible for resource planning, cost control, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration to drive operational efficiency, meet financial goals, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Resource Utilization:
Develop and implement production schedules that align with design deadlines and commercial priorities. Efficiently allocate manhours using the Production Portal and coordinate with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely procurement of materials. Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials while proactively identifying and resolving any production bottlenecks.
Manufacturing Operations & Technical Oversight:
Supervise the assembly, wiring, and testing processes for LV, MV, and HV switchgear panels. Ensure seamless integration of automation components such as PLCs, SCADA systems, and protection relays. Enforce strict adherence to testing protocols, including high-voltage, insulation resistance, and functional tests, to guarantee product reliability.
Rework Control & Approval Process:
No rework is permitted without formal management approval. A detailed Rework Request Memo must be submitted, outlining the issue, origin, estimated cost, and any client requests. This memo requires approval from the Production & Operations Manager or Sr. DGM, with all records maintained in the production portal for transparency.
Quality Management & ISO Compliance:
Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Lead internal audits and prepare the team for external inspections. Ensure timely preparation and uploading of quality control reports and all relevant documentation.
Cost Control & Efficiency Optimization:
Monitor production budgets and resource consumption closely. Analyze machine manhours against cost center hours to assess productivity levels. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Work collaboratively with Design, Estimation, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain departments to ensure production readiness aligns with client delivery schedules and invoicing requirements. Partner with HR on manpower planning, performance evaluations, and workforce adjustments.
Job Order Management & Invoicing:
Ensure job orders are closed and invoiced within three days of readiness. Monitor and escalate any delays in delivery or client pickups. Reconcile Goods Received Note (GRN) dates against dispatch records and document any discrepancies.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor the production team with a focus on safety, technical proficiency, and productivity. Establish KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Safety & Environmental Management:
Enforce ISO 14001 environmental standards and conduct regular safety audits and training sessions. Prohibit mobile phone use and unauthorized items on the production floor to maintain a safe working environment.
5-S Implementation:
Drive the adoption of 5-S practices to improve workplace cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation:
Regularly analyze and report on manhours, machine utilization, budget adherence, staff deployment, work-in-progress status, and any discrepancies. Oversee the development and review of job descriptions, standard operating procedures, and quality control formats. Maintain updated meeting records in designated portals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
- 6–8 years of experience in switchgear manufacturing, covering LV, MV, and HV panel production.
- Proven expertise in ISO-compliant manufacturing environments and ERP-driven production systems.
- Proficiency with ERP software, production planning tools, and testing procedures.
- Hands-on knowledge of switchgear design, assembly, automation, and testing.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Results-driven, organized, and collaborative approach to work.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Certifications in ISO 9001/14001, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing are advantageous.
- Full-time position based at HRA Switchgear’s manufacturing facility with extensive cross-departmental interaction.
