Job Summary
Siddique Ice, a reputable company established in 1972, specializes in operating a large-scale industrial refrigeration system complemented by a rooftop solar plant with a capacity exceeding 100 kW. We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Drafter to accurately capture, refine, and maintain the electrical drawings of these systems. This role is primarily remote, based in Islamabad, Pakistan, with a mandatory single site visit to the plant. The contract is temporary, lasting approximately one month.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Drafter will begin by conducting a thorough site walk-down at the plant to observe and document critical components such as string routes, inverter boards, and grounding paths. This initial visit is essential for gathering accurate as-built information.
Following the site visit, the candidate will produce detailed and professional electrical drawings using AutoCAD. Deliverables include single-line diagrams, cable/conduit and tray schedules, earthing and lightning protection layouts, panel board schedules, and comprehensive equipment lists. These drawings must be clear, precise, and compliant with relevant standards to support ongoing operations and maintenance.
The role also involves managing up to two revision cycles. During these cycles, the drafter will incorporate feedback from the engineering team and identify any discrepancies in design or code compliance. These observations will be communicated to the engineering team for resolution, ensuring that all documentation remains accurate and up to date.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Diploma or B.Tech. degree in Electrical or Drafting Technology. A minimum of three years’ experience in electrical drafting is required, with a preference for those who have worked on solar photovoltaic (PV) projects of 50 kW capacity or greater.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical drafting software is essential. The candidate should be well-versed in interpreting on-site as-built sketches and converting them into professional CAD drawings. Familiarity with IEC 60364 standards and Pakistan’s electrical codes is mandatory to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Experience
Experience with PVsyst or Helioscope software is considered an advantage, as it supports solar project design and analysis. Additionally, prior involvement with industrial refrigeration power feed systems will be beneficial, given the nature of Siddique Ice’s operations.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with the only on-site requirement being the initial plant visit. The contract duration is approximately one month, making it an ideal opportunity for professionals seeking short-term engagements with a reputable company.
Candidates should have at least intermediate education and a minimum of five years’ experience in electrical drafting to be considered for this role.
