Working with the farm’s management team and attending meetings
Supervising the animal managment team and running briefing sessions
Staff training
Managing the health and safety of livestock farming premises
Yearly planning of key events (e.g. lambing/TB testing/weaning & breeding)
Organising the livestock team staff rota
Paperwork (e.g. medicine book/farm health plan & movements)
Diagnosing and medicating health issues with the animals
Livestock reports
Stock control (e.g. animals/feed/hay & straw/medication)
Delegating and overseeing of jobs/tasks and passing on any information to the farm team
Organising daily staff led feeding sessions
Ability to deliver animal talks where needed
Ensuring all animals are fed correctly, and with a view to reducing waste and good pest control practices
Large and small animal handling including goats, deers
Moving livestock including cows and sheep
