Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Coloured Gel Maker at our state-of-the-art empty hard gelatine capsules factory. The Coloured Gel Maker will play a crucial role in the production process by adding colours to gelatine solutions, creating films, and ensuring they match the specified master shade card. The ideal candidate should possess a keen eye for colour accuracy, be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, and be able to handle the responsibilities associated with preparing gelatine solutions.

Responsibilities:

Colour Mixing and Matching:

Add colours to gelatine solutions based on specified formulations.
Create films from the coloured gelatine solutions and ensure they match the master shade card.

Gelatine Solution Preparation:

Operate gelatine melters (heated tanks) to prepare gelatine solutions.
Mix water, gelatine powder, and minor additives according to established recipes.
Monitor and control temperature, viscosity, and other parameters during the gelatine melting process.

Quality Control:

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the colour accuracy of gelatine solutions and films.
Take corrective actions to maintain consistency and quality standards.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of colour formulations, gelatine solution recipes, and quality control data.
Update production logs and documentation as needed.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless integration of coloured gelatine into the capsule manufacturing process.
Communicate effectively with other departments to address any colour-related issues.

Qualifications:

High school diploma required; Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in a relevant field is preferred but not necessary.
Previous experience in a similar role or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and colour perception skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Skills:

Basic understanding of chemical processes and equipment.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move containers of raw materials (gelatine powder, additives, etc.).
Comfortable working in a production environment with temperature variations.
