This role plays a crucial part in Global Sourcing by driving the vision to build the most agile, competitive, digitalized, and sustainable supply base in the industry. The focus is on managing the development, commercialization, product integrity, manufacturability, and cost performance of assigned projects or categories, ensuring alignment with target FOB goals. Working closely with Tier 1 factories and technical teams, the position champions innovation and continuous improvement in product engineering and sourcing processes to maintain high standards and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the development and commercialization of assigned products in collaboration with Tier 1 factory personnel and technical teams, ensuring a seamless transition from design to production. Provide specialized technical expertise to ensure manufacturability, appropriate material selection, compliance with material standards, adherence to development timelines, and achievement of cost targets.
Lead continuous improvements by upgrading technical applications and processes, incorporating new technologies into development and engineering efforts. Oversee the direct development process between Headquarters/Creation Center and Tier 1 factories, emphasizing the Create to Value (CTV) approach while maintaining product integrity.
Influence internal stakeholders such as Design, Marketing, Brand Operations, and Quality teams, alongside external partners including factory development, commercialization, and production teams. Drive change through principle-centered management aligned with company standards. Make day-to-day decisions within the defined scope and escalate complex issues or potential business and manufacturing impacts to senior management.
Execute defined directives effectively and serve as a leadership role model to promote a culture of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace environment.
Required Qualifications
A university degree in engineering or a related field is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in product engineering, development, and commercialization. Proven expertise in pattern engineering, product creation, mold making, grading, and materials processing is required.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, product testing and evaluation, and various material types is necessary. The ability to read and interpret shell patterns, 2D and 3D blueprints, Bills of Materials (BOM), Cost Breakdown (CBD), and First Cost Target (FCT) is critical.
Candidates must have a solid understanding of costing principles and be able to analyze product cost breakdowns effectively. A creative mindset with strong problem-solving skills is important, along with excellent influencing, presentation, and communication abilities.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also expected.
