Position Summary
- The Director of Estimating will be responsible for all estimating operations for the our New York region.
- This position will engage on the large most prominent and technically complex public projects and will oversee a team of highly professionals.
- Minimum 10 Year Experience In Estimating A Must. Working On International Experience Is A Plus And Is Preferred.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assigns and coordinates scope of work with estimating staff for each project.
- Reviews project plans, specifications, estimating scopes prepared by estimating staff.
- Prepares budget and general conditions estimates for entire project.
- Ensures the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
- Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
- Maintains and updates the estimating software (PLANSWIFT).
- Reviews and compare proposals received
- Researching construction documents and analyzing specifications.
- Preparing estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
- Managing pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
- Preparing estimates to meet project goals, such as sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
- Ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
Culture, Leadership and Employee Development
- Builds effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers that reflect and support company core values
- Develops proposals and assists in presentations as necessary.
- Leads and manages estimating team in both the office and the field.
- Participates in talent management activities such as recruiting, coaching and mentoring others.
- Participates in and supports Estimating training programs and commits to both personal and staff development.
- Prepares performance and salary reviews for employees
