Position Summary

  • The Director of Estimating will be responsible for all estimating operations for the our New York region. 
  • This position will engage on the large most prominent and technically complex public projects and will oversee a team of highly professionals.
  • Minimum 10 Year Experience In Estimating A Must. Working On International Experience Is A Plus And Is Preferred.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  •  Assigns and coordinates scope of work with estimating staff for each project.
  • Reviews project plans, specifications, estimating scopes prepared by estimating staff.
  • Prepares budget and general conditions estimates for entire project.
  • Ensures the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
  • Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
  • Maintains and updates the estimating software (PLANSWIFT).
  • Reviews and compare proposals received
  • Researching construction documents and analyzing specifications.
  • Preparing estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
  • Managing pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
  • Preparing estimates to meet project goals, such as  sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.

Culture, Leadership and Employee Development 

  • Builds effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers that reflect and support company core values
  • Develops proposals and assists in presentations as necessary.
  •  Leads and manages estimating team in both the office and the field.
  • Participates in talent management activities such as recruiting, coaching and mentoring others.
  • Participates in and supports Estimating training programs and commits to both personal and staff development.
  • Prepares performance and salary reviews for employees
