As Project Officer for Qatar Charity (QC) in partnership with UNICEF, I led the Social Mobilization Unit to implement the emergency WASH project under the Pakistan Approaches to Total Sanitation Plus (PATS+) initiative across six Balochistan districts: Quetta, Pishin, Chaman, Killa Saifullah, Loralai, and Chaghi. With PKR 450 million in Phase I and PKR 310 million in Phase II, we aimed to enhance water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities for vulnerable populations, especially women and children in Afghan refugee camps. My role involved coordinating interventions, ensuring access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation, and hygiene awareness to reduce waterborne diseases.

In 2022, Pakistan's Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Health with international funding, aimed to combat rising typhoid cases. TCV, introduced in 2019 and included in the routine immunization schedule, prioritized high-risk children under 15. As the District Coordinator for PHC-Global in Quetta, I successfully led the campaign, achieving high vaccination rates in collaboration with EPI, UNICEF, WHO, and the Government of Balochistan. We vaccinated over 30,000 children aged nine months to 15 years, significantly reducing disease prevalence and highlighting the importance of immunization and public health efforts in Balochistan.

As Provincial Health & Hygiene Promotion Officer for the Balochistan Medical Support Program (BMSP), I led health initiatives across six districts: Quetta, Naseerabad, Khuzdar, Kharan, Loralai, and Turbat. Jointly implemented by the Government of Balochistan’s Department of Health and the Poverty Eradication Initiative, BMSP aimed to strengthen hospital systems and enhance maternal, newborn, and child health services. My role involved health facility assessments, supply provision, capacity-building, and community engagement. Key initiatives focused on health promotion, particularly hand and foot safety for children, contributing to improved healthcare delivery and reducing preventable diseases in these districts. The project was successfully completed.

As Program Coordinator, I led the Get Up Speak Out (GUSO) program in Balochistan, a five-year initiative (2016-2020) driven by the United for Body Rights and Access Service Knowledge frameworks. Developed by the NL/UK Consortium—Rutgers, CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality, dance4life, IPPF, Simavi, and Aidsfonds—the program aimed to empower youth to claim their sexual rights and actively participate in societal and institutional settings. Implemented across three provinces in Pakistan, GUSO focused on youth empowerment, child protection, gender-based violence prevention, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), and life skills-based education. Key components included advocacy for SRHR, protection against sexual exploitation, and skills training. Through collaborative community engagement, I successfully led Balochistan’s youth-focused efforts, fostering youth empowerment, enhancing SRHR awareness, and promoting gender equity and protection. The project concluded successfully, creating a sustainable impact on youth rights and protection across Balochistan.

PPAF-III World Bank & Program for poverty reduction (PPR)

In my role, I contributed to two Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) projects in Balochistan: PPAF-III, funded by the World Bank, and the Programme for Poverty Reduction (PPR), supported by the Government of Italy. Both initiatives focused on uplifting impoverished communities across Quetta, Dera Bugti, Killa Abdullah, Kohlu, and Loralai. With a mission of poverty alleviation through community-led development, PPAF's integrated approach involved several key components: social mobilization (institution development and capacity building), community physical infrastructure (small-scale community schemes), health (rehabilitation of BHUs, RHCs, and Nutrition, outpatient therapeutic feeding programs), education (construction of community learning schools), and livelihood enhancement. These programs collectively transformed local communities by improving infrastructure, health, education, and economic opportunities. My role was pivotal in coordinating activities across these areas, contributing to sustainable development and resilience-building in Balochistan’s marginalized populations. The projects were successfully completed, achieving significant impact on community well-being and poverty reduction.
