-The Assistant Director-Livestock (AD-L) will assume the main responsibility for all livestock development aspects of the project at district level.
-The AD-L will in collaboration with the AD-Agri at the DMU level ensure timely preparation of annual work plans, targets and outputs as an integral part of the Annual work plan and Budget for submission to PD.
- The AD-L will provide technical input in the procurement of the livestock under the asset creation sub component and will make arrangements together with the COs and the SMP for ensuring the purchase of good quality and appropriate breeds and animals for distribution at District level.
- The AD-L will be responsible for identifying the interventions and the arrangements for delivering the productivity enhancement initiatives in close collaboration with the COs and the SMP.
- The AD-L will be responsible for identifying technical assistance needs in livestock sector and will make arrangements with line agencies for their technical services for the project as and when required
-The AD-L will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the technology transfer component and making arrangements for the implementation of the Livestock Farmer Field Schools through the timely procurement of an FFS trainer especially women
- Be responsible for ensuring that gender is maintained in all livestock activities, ensure the implementation of all gender targets, ensure the inclusion of activities of interest of women such as feed preparation, milk production, procession and storage etc
- The AD-L will take the lead role in ensuring the arrangements for the training of the female para vets and the Female veterinary Assistants to be trained under the project.
-He will make all arrangements for their training, accommodation, travel, stipends and course content in collaboration with the training institution. He will also be responsible for their placement at the end of the training period
-The AD-L will ensure that the training events are organized in a manner which encourages participation of women and that the environment provided for the participation of women is safe, secure and appropriate for their participation
-The AD-L will undertake regular visits to the project area and develop mechanism for participatory monitoring of activities in the agriculture sector and ensure that the selected activities are of interest to the target group and suggest course corrections as and when necessary
- The AD-L will provide technical input in the procurement of all goods and services equipment’s and machinery related to the agriculture sector - The AD-L will ensure the adequate and timely preparation of quarterly and annual progress reports for submission to the PD
-The AD-L will ensure that all reports are dis-aggregated by sex. He will identify any gender related issues and highlight them in the project meetings and reports

1. To provide technical consultancy to the feedlot and backgrounding farms preferably to those supported from AMD grant program on feedlot technical and farm feasibility, site selection and shed construction, animal selection and best cost feed formulation, animal health and fodder production and on marketing aspects of the feedlot.
2. Work for the establishment of livestock disease free compartment zone in the southern Punjab.
3. Ensure better adoption of best improved feedlot management practices by the feedlot farmers, who have already learned new feedlot production skills and knowledge through project trainings.
4. Work on business linkage development activities b/w feedlot and value added business in the industry.
5. Ensure the proper delivery and branding of the grant equipment’s to the grantees. 6. Technically assist in the establishment and successful running of the project feedlot and backgrounding farms.
7. Provide contextual based feedback and analysis of the constraints challenges and problems faced by the feedlot and backgrounders.
8. Selection of potential feedlot farmers and backgrounders for the project workshops and trainings and oversee workshops and orientation session in the project area.
9. Quarterly Beef feedlot data collection based on project key indicators against the technical and grants in-kind assistance provided by the project.
10. Strive for the establishment and empowerment of the Feedlot business association.
Achievments: 
1. Technically assisted in animal nutrition, feed formulation and livestock technology transfer to 500 dairy farmers in clusters around 6 feedlot project grantee farms in the districts of Multan, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran etc.
2. Contributed to implement the 5 feedlot and one backgrounding grants in Multan region.
3. Contributed to identify and train more than 10 backgrounding farmers in the Multan region.
4. Contributed to conduct many feedlot farmers workshops, seminars, conferences and expo to develop the feedl

1. Provide Technical Consultancy to the Feedlot farms preferably to those supported from AMD grant program on following area:
-Animal Health of feedlot.
-Feeding regime and Improved management practices.
-Input supply linkages.
-Linkages with small holders in cluster of villages for Backward supply of cattle directly from villages.
-Forward links with exporters and premium retail buyers.
-Selection of feedlot fattening Farms sites and layout of the farms.
-Breed improvement and artificial insemination.
-Environment protection, food safety and traceability.
-Feedlot fattening farm record keeping for beef quality and quantity improvements.

2. Assist implementation of Grant Support Program
-Coordinate with pre-selected grantees to agree on cost shared model of feedlot grants.
-Oversee delivery of all grant items at approved grantees venue o Oversee cost shared development on grantees side.
-Arrange grants distribution events at grantees venues in the region.
-Coordination with the technical team of the vendors (who supplied the feedlot fattening farm machinery to the grantees) for better supply of goods and after sale services.
3. Assist and Oversee Feedlot Training Sessions o Information dissemination of different trainings to the farmers and develop trainees lists.
-As focal person of training sessions in the region, coordinate with all Trainees and ensure their timely arrival at the venue.
-Pre training coordination with BSP and oversee arrangement of in house venue branding, field activities and accommodation etc.
-Oversee Training sessions as per contractual quality parameters.
-Development of technical livestock extension literatures in Urdu language especially for the small scale farmers.
4. Facilitate ISTTAs visits and arrange farmers meetings and field visits of ISTTAs in the region

• Conducted 5 days “TOT on animals production and Feedlot cattle Farming” in UVAS for 24 participants delivered by Michael Bradfield.
• Conducted 7 days “Walk through Meat & Dairy Development Program” for 28 participants of the MDDP project run by the Provincial Livestock & Dairy Development Department KPK.
• Have facilitated the international consultants like Michael Bradfield, Wayne Murtagh and William Mott while executing several interventions of the Halal Meat Value Chain especially in Punjab province i.e. Animal Production and Feedlot cattle fattening Manula and TOT in UVAS, Meat standardization and grading of local Pakistani cattle, Branding of Meat cuts and breed improvement program of TAP etc.

• Monitoring of all interventions of the project to train 8000 microc level dairy farmers to increase their milk sales/incomes upto 50%. Also working to strengthen the the private sector and link with the farmers at gross root level for sustainability economic growth.
• Provide support to the VC Director in the management of sub-grants and in all facets of project management and technical assistance delivery to KFPs.
• Follow up and ensure adoption or identification of problems in the adoption of directions from the VCDirector and/or Entrepreneurs Project Management.
• Work closely with the KFPs in nurturing collaborative relationship with all key stakeholders including local government authorities, community leaders, beneficiaries, partner organizations.

• Monitored and wrote monitoring reports to conduct to train more than 20000 dairy farmers/300 Female Livestock Extension Workers and 200 Female Village Milk Collectors.
• Monitored and contributed to install 20 chillers with Shakarganj Food Products Ltd.
• Contributed to design/procure and distribute the 8000 water troughs to female dairy farmers.
• Regular technical and field based feed back provided to the higher management of the MEDA.

2.1.1      Main responsibilities
o   In charge of the overall planning, monitoring and technical supervision of all Livestock related activities in Pakistan.
o   Main responsible for the elaboration of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with state Livestock Departments and their implementation based on its existing normal mechanism in place or close proximity.
o   Provide support/training to the Economic Secuity (EcoSec) Unit within the Livestock section teams including the ICRC Livestock team Peshawar (2 FO\'s) and Quetta (1 FO) and to the national society of the red cross movement, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) volunteers in as far as they are involved in activities
o   Ensure that progress and objectives of the Livestock Section of the EcoSec Operational Plan 2012 are met
o   Ensure internal coordination with ICRC Delegation/Sub-Delegations, EcoSec Programme Manager, other ICRC departments and external coordination with authorities and other stakeholders in the field.
o   Ensure that budgeting and planning procedures for the programme implementation are followed
o   Ensure a proper monitoring progress and evaluation against set objectives as per EcoSec Operational Plan.
o   Ensure timely reporting on programme progress (weekly, quarterly and donor reports, as required)
o   Contribute to the PfR 2013 with the design of the livestock programme in close coordination with the EcoSec-Co / EcoSec Programme Manager (PES/FATA) and HoSD PES & QUT
2.1.2      Main tasks
2.1.2.1           Analysis
o   Analyses the information on livestock related developments/problems in his area of responsibility.
o   Puts the situation analysis in the broader context of the livestock sector in the whole of Pakistan.
o   Based on a/m analysis, conducts needs assessments in his area of responsibility and, in cooperation with the EcoSec Coordinator proposes interventions to address the identified needs.
o   Contributes to PFR 2012 – problem analysis and contribution to the formulation of the objectives
2.1.2.2           Management
o   Establishes MoU\'s and Plan of Action (PoA\'s) to implement proposed activities.
o   Oversees/supervises the progress of implemented activities – carries out the necessary monitoring exercises and ensures timely reporting on the progress of programmes to his superiors.
o   Coaches and supports 2 livestock FO\'s in PES and 1 livestock FO in QUT. Where PRCS volunteers are involved he ensures that their skills\' gaps are identified and proposes adequate capacity building.
o   Contributes to the appraisal of the staff under his supervision.
o   Checks programme progress against set objectives and takes corrective measures when necessary.
o   Checks programme expenditures against planned budget and take corrective measures if necessary.
o   Ensures adequate monitoring and evaluation of the programme.
2.1.2.3     Reporting
o   Supervises FO\'s WOR contributions to the SD\'s of PES and QUT and contributes to the EcoSec Quarterly Report.
o   Ensures that the monthly statistical reports (MSR) are correct and sent to EcoSec_ISL in due time.
o   Scrutinises assessment/monitoring/evaluation reports from FO\'s and ensures appropriate coaching.
2.1.2.4           Representation/coordination
o   Attends regular coordination meetings (both internal and external)
o   Focal point for all Livestock related issues (both internal and external)
o   Focal point for Livestock related interlocutors (livestock department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) P/Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Balochistan regions at provincial and district level, FAO, WFP, etc.)
o   Ensures that data collected in the field or from EcoSec are used for coordination and mobilization purposes.
ACHIEVEMENTS
o   Distributed 415 Dairy Cow for Widow Grants to the armed conflict affected women in KPK.
o   Three MoUs jointly prepared signed implemented and monitored with livestock department KPK and FATA.
o   Trained 169 staff of livestock department KPK and FATA. For KPK, two courses conducted were on Training of Facilitator course (14 days duration) and two Refresher Courses conducted were on Livestock Farmer Field School Methodology. For FATA, conducted three trainings for FATA livestock farmers on fodder production and management.
o   Contributed in assessment planning, procurement quarantines selection distribution and monitoring of 631 dairy cows for widow packages in Buner.
o   Conducted consultation workshops for planning of livestock interventions in 2010.
o   Donated veterinary equipment’s and tools of worth of PKR 15 million to livestock department KPK and FATA. These include equipment’s of Artificial Insemination, cold boxes, syringes and semen analyzer... Technical assistance provided in designing of specification, procurement, handing over and monitoring of these equipment’s.
o   Attended workshop in Nairobi Kenya on Agriculture Food processing  from 27 September 2010 to 02 October 2010   
o   Planning and identification of livestock interventions for 2012 with livestock department FATA/KP.
o   Have conducted more than 15 meetings with the GLAs.
o   Advised and gave context based technical support to the EcoSec team leader for the development of the ICRC\'s Community Based Animal Health Program in Quetta Baluchistan.

During service with the Caritas, I have worked with the Livestock & Dairy Development Deparment KPK/AJK.
The facilitators from these departments were involved to deliver trainings for the community and to create linkage with them. Equipment’s were also provided to these two departments too.

ACHIEVEMENTS
 
o   Implemented the program as well as the Agriculture/livestock and vocational trainings are concerned.
o   Seed/fertilizer/agri tool kit procurement, distributions were arranged for the earthquake victims.
o   Several vocational trainings were arranged i.e. tailoring, welding and masonry in the agri sector.
o   For the capacity building of the staff trainings and workshops were arranged.
o   Several monitoring’s were conducted 
o   Implemented the livestock restocking program, Livestock Extension workers trainings, implementation of deworming campaign and donated artificial insemination equipment’s to the department of Livestock. 

The Department of Livestock KPK was involved in the quarantine/selection/certification and distribution of more than 7500 animals to 7500 HH earthquake affected communities. To conduct the trainings, the facilitators from these departments were also involved to deliver trainings for the community and to create linkage with them.

o   Timely preparation and proper maintenance of financial records including vouchers supporting etc.
o   Proper implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
o   Timely payments, proper deductions and deposit of all taxes with the help of finance manger.
o   Working with finance manger on monthly Financial Report required to Finance Sections.
o   Responsible for posting entries in “Quick Books” (Accounting Software).
o   Responsible for maintaining of cash counts, advance register, monthly income tax & Phi’s track sheets.

o   Petty Cash Handling in various Distributions.
