CPPA-G is seeking the services of a Business Process Administration and Re-engineering Expert in the role of individual consultant. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing, reviewing, and improving the business processes of the Market Operations and Development (MOD), CPPA-G. The candidate will also lead and manage the business process automation of MOD and CPPA-G. The ideal candidate will have experience with business process reengineering, process improvement, business analysis, and project management. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have the ability to adapt to challenging and changing situations quickly while being able to facilitate the completion of multiple tasks and assignments.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

The Business Process Administration & Re-engineering Consultant shall be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Development and Management of Business Process Quality Assessment framework:
    • Defining Business Process Quality Assessment KPIs and Framework: Responsible for identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the quality of business processes within the organization. This activity will be performed in consultation with the relevant functional team and owner.
    • Conduct regular assessments of the quality of business processes. This involves identifying areas where processes can be improved and developing recommendations for improvement.
    • Responsible for preparing reports that document the results of assessments. These reports should include an analysis of the current state of business processes, as well as recommendations for improvement.
    • Evaluate existing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. Recommend and implement best practices that can enhance operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This may involve streamlining procedures, integrating automation, or leveraging innovative technologies.
    • Once areas identified where processes can be improved, need to develop action points and recommendations for improvement like through automation or business process re-engineering.
  • Development of Market Management System (MMS) Phase-II and its integration with MO IT Applications, MO Website and ERP:
    • Act as a liaison between the business team and the IT team, ensuring that both teams are working together effectively for business requirements understanding.
    • Document business functional requirement specification in form of User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Wireframes, Mockups, Decision Trees and Flow charts so that IT development team can easily understand and code the program accordingly.
    • Define mechanism and specification for the integration of MO Website with MMS and ERP applications. Also, for the integration of MMS application with external systems.
    • Work closely with business user to understand their change requests, assess the impact of the changes, and document the requirements needed to implement the change.
    • Work with business user to identify areas for system improvement, and document the requirements needed to make those improvements.
  • Management of MO Process Manuals, Hierarchical Business Process Maps and JDs:
    • Development of MO Process Manuals, hierarchal Business Process maps, Workflow diagrams and Decision Trees as per the industrial standards and conventions.
    • Develop and Management of Responsibility matrix and Job Descriptions resulting from MO Business Processes.
    • Responsible for analyzing existing business processes and identifying areas for improvement to increase efficiency and enhance stakeholders satisfaction.
  • Research and Analysis regarding Technological Best Practices and Digital Transformation:
    • Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand emerging technologies, technological trends, industrial development, methodologies, best practices, and standards relevant to organization's industry.
    • Assess the applicability and potential impact of emerging technologies within organization. Conduct feasibility studies, evaluate risks, and analyze potential benefits and drawbacks.
    • Provide recommendations on adopting, implementing, or optimizing technologies that align with business goals and objectives.
    • Ensure Agile and Scrum processes are being followed correctly, and that the team is following the Agile principles. This includes running daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and ensuring the team is tracking progress on their work in a transparent manner.

Consultancy Deliverables / Outcomes

  • Development of a framework for assessing the quality of business processes.
  • Periodic reports on Business Process Quality Assessment along with recommendations
  • Technical Specifications for the development of MMS Phase-2 applications
  • Technical Specifications for MMS application support and change requests.
  • Technical Specifications for MO Website integration with MMS application and ERP application
  • Required assistance on changes in ERP Application regarding MO Processes
  • Review of MO Process Manuals as per relevant updates and revisions
  • Review of Job Descriptions as per updates and revisions in the relevant Business Process
  • Facilitation on Agile and Scrum practices to manage IT Projects and Digital Transformation.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent hands-on knowledge of BPR best practices and life cycle.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Experience in working on the specialized Business Process Modeling tools, along with strong experience in basic modeling tools like Microsoft Visio or in the similar kind of tool.
  • Experience in working on Business Process Simulation tools to analyze business scenarios efficiencies and comparison with different Business Process Models.
  • Ability to perform analysis using Excel or any specialized tool for making business models comparison reports and benchmarking analysis.
  • Must have knowledge of standard Business Analysis life cycle, Project Management knowledge areas, Agile Project Management and Software Development life cycle
  • Must have knowledge of the latest and trending software development methodologies, frameworks, architecture concepts and terminologies.
  • Ability in transforming the business requirement into technical Requirement Specification document for the implementation team
  • The ideal candidate must have strong Business Process mapping and designing skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualification / Certifications:

  • MBA, MIT, BBA, MSc or BS degree (16 years of HEC equivalent education) in Business Administration, Computer Sciences, or Project Management
  • MS/MPhil (18 years of HEC equivalent education) degree in any of the above-mentioned category would be given a preference
  • Professional certifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, Digital Transformation be an added advantage

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience including at least 10 years of experience in Business Process Re-engineering, Business Analysis, ERP Implementation Management, and Business Process Improvement related projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Power Sector related projects.
  • Verifiable experience of at least three large-scale Business Process Re-Engineering projects in the public-sector (preferably in Pakistan).
  • Verifiable experience of at least three projects in Managing or Leading the implementation of ERP systems in the public-sector or large-scale private organizations.

Period of assignment/services:

  • The duration of the assignment is two years from the date of joining.
