Sibisoft is looking for a self-driven, highly motivated, hands on Senior Database Administrator. Candidate should have worked as a Database Administrator & DBA, having 5 years of professional development & administration experience preferably in MySQL (Good to have other databases experience).
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in database design.
• Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems.
• Monitoring database efficiency.
• Sustaining the security and integrity of data.
• Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted.
• Managing MySQL instance, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations.
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
• Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, replication etc.
• Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
• Training colleagues in how to input and extract data.
• Prepare documentations and specifications.
Required Skills:
• Decent experience with recent versions of MySQL.
• Strong proficiency in DBMS.
• Knowledge of 'relational database management systems' (RDBMS), 'object oriented database management systems' (OODBMS) and XML database management systems.
• The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines.
• Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing.
• Experience and good hands on underlying storage engines
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for multiple databases.
• Experience working with Linux servers is a plus.
• Familiarity with other databases server such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, MSSQL, Oracle etc. is a plus.
• Must know how to handle Security such as Grant Rollback and Transaction.
• Knowledge of limitations in Databases and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT / CVS.
• Experience with replication configuration in MySQL.
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.
