Job responsibilities include:
- Designing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Managing network security and troubleshooting network-related issues.
- Monitoring network performance and capacity, and making adjustments as needed.
- Managing and maintaining network-attached storage and virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Providing technical support to end-users and other members of the IT team.
- Researching and implementing new technologies to improve network performance and security.
- Collaborating with other IT professionals to implement projects and support business objectives.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience with network security best practices and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and ability to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Understanding of cloud-based networking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, etc. are a plus.
