Key Responsibilities

  • Recording of all bank and cash transaction on daily basis.
  • Preparation of monthly profit and loss accounts on accrual basis by recognizing the revenue and cost of each project on the basis of percentage of completion method.
  • Preparation of quarterly, half yearly and annual accounts by using the same basis.
  • Timeline for preparation of monthly accounts is on the seventh of the following month.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliation statements within two days of the closing of the month.
  • Preparation of budgeted profit of every assignment with consultation of top management and according to the terms of agreement & present BVA to higher management for review.
  • Compare the actual profit and loss of every assignment at the completion of assignment and identify and explain the variances.
  • Timely release of vendor’s & consultants payments
  • Responsible for international payments (inward & outward remittances)
  • Preparation of budget forecasting as & when required
  • Identification of fixed costs of the organization and identification of reasonable basis (activity-based costing) to allocate these costs on different projects.
  • Custodian of cash at office, cash at bank and cheque books.
  • Custodian of all fixed assets of the company and responsible for the proper repair and maintenance of these assets.
  • Responsible for compliance of all regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for maintenance of complete record of drawings by the managing director.
  • Preparation of aging analysis of receivables.
  • Submission of tax returns of AAN and the directors in coordination with tax consultants.

Other General Tasks

  • Support any other task as deemed necessary related with the Operations, Project Development, Project Management etc., or AAN’s other operations (consulting work and/or institutional management);
  • Participate in staff meetings as and when required;
  • Be aware of and comply with AAN’s rules and regulations;
  • Support other staff members in maintaining a good conducive work environment and morale, and;
  • Comply with AAN’s policies as are prescribed in AAN’s manual on Administration and HR, particularly maintaining confidentiality and security of AAN’s key information and documents.
  • Take a lead in the start-up and closeout of AAN’s Projects (both national and international) with partners, procurements, budgeting, events, and others.
  • The incumbent could be assigned other tasks by MD as per organisational needs

Essential Qualification, Experience & Skills Requirement

  • CA/ICMA/ACCA, MBA (finance) or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience and knowledge of International/Pakistan rules and regulations related to finance, accounts and reporting standards
  • Experience with development/consulting sector in similar roles will be a plus, and
  • Ability to work independently and as part of diverse teams

Preferred Skills

  •  Ability to record transactions on timely basis to keep the accounting record up to date.
  • Ability to prepare monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual accounts.
  • Ability to deal with banks for investment of surplus funds and dealing in foreign currencies.
  • Ability to deal and correspond with external auditors, regulatory authorities and taxation department.
  •  Ability to prepare budgets and forecasts and demonstrate trend analysis.
  • Ability to compare budgeted and actual results of each assignment and investigate, justify and demonstrate the variances to the management.
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to deal with the management, auditors and other regulatory authorities.
  •  Strong knowledge of MS Office especially excel and power point. Working knowledge of any ERP system will be an advantage.

Language & Computer Skills

  • Excellent English and Urdu written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Quick Book, MS Office is must, especially excel
