Abdali Hostel is seeking an organized and responsible Hostel Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure smooth functioning of the hostel facilities. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in facility management and team leadership, capable of managing a team of five staff members including cleaners, guards, and maintenance personnel. The Hostel Manager must be proficient in handling budgets, inventory, and facility maintenance, while maintaining clear communication with residents and responding promptly to their needs.
In this role, the manager will be responsible for coordinating daily activities such as rent and payment collection, complaint resolution, and emergency response. The candidate should be comfortable using digital systems for maintaining online records and reports, and have basic computer skills including familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets. A hands-on approach is essential, with a focus on honesty, responsibility, and proactive supervision to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all hostel residents.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily hostel operations including maintenance, cleanliness, and overall facility management.
- Manage a team of five staff members including cleaners, guards, and maintenance workers, providing clear instructions and supervision.
- Handle budget management and ensure efficient use of resources to maintain the hostel in good condition.
- Maintain detailed and accurate digital records and reports using tools such as Excel or Google Sheets.
- Collect rent and other payments from residents in a timely and professional manner.
- Address and resolve complaints or issues raised by residents promptly and effectively.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to address facility issues such as electricity, water, and general repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and respond to emergency situations when required.
- Supervise inventory management to maintain adequate supplies and materials necessary for daily operations.
- Communicate regularly and clearly with students to foster a positive and respectful living environment.
- Maintain honesty and integrity in money handling and other managerial duties.
- Monitor the behavior and performance of the hostel staff and provide feedback or training if necessary.
