This role is focused on ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all schools within the READ Foundation network, with particular emphasis on Model Schools serving Early Childhood Education through Grade 5. The position also involves providing academic support to Satellite Schools, which operate multigrade classrooms, while preparing for the potential expansion of the program to include Grades 6 and 7. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in curriculum implementation, teacher development, and student performance improvement, contributing to the foundation’s mission of advancing literacy and numeracy standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the implementation of the READ Foundation academic curriculum from Early Childhood Education to Grade 5, ensuring consistency and quality across all schools.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, teaching guides, assessment templates, and practice materials for both teachers and students to support effective learning.
- Conduct regular classroom observations, providing constructive feedback to teachers to enhance instructional practices.
- Manage the Literacy & Numeracy Coach to strengthen foundational skills among students.
- Ensure that Model Schools (Humei, Tang Kachao, Durbancha) maintain exemplary standards, particularly during visits from stakeholders and guests.
- Coordinate bi-monthly support visits from Model Schools to Satellite Schools to facilitate knowledge sharing and academic support.
- Supervise Backup Teachers who provide weekday teaching at Government High Schools, deliver Ed-Tech training, and conduct staff development sessions.
- Organize winter camps aimed at remedial and catch-up classes, specifically for boarding school students in Quetta.
- Plan and prepare for the expansion to Grades 6 and 7, including curriculum development, teacher training, and material preparation, with direct teaching responsibilities at Nok Kundi Girls Higher Secondary School.
- Collaborate with trainers based in Islamabad to coordinate capacity-building initiatives, particularly training sessions held in February before the academic year begins.
- Be accountable for achieving student literacy and numeracy benchmarks, driving ongoing teacher professional development, and ensuring bi-monthly academic support visits to Satellite Schools.
- Hold the authority to approve daily lesson plan variations, independently schedule support visits, and recommend teacher transfers or probationary actions to the Project Manager.
- Meet key performance targets such as achieving 80% student literacy and numeracy goals, completing monthly teacher observations, documenting bi-monthly Satellite School visits, and successfully executing winter camps.
- Travel frequently to all schools within the network and maintain flexibility to conduct occasional evening or weekend training sessions as required.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.), Educational Leadership, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 to 6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within an NGO or development organization setting.
