Account Receiveable Specialist - Medical Billing

Meds Nexus is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (A/R) Specialist with experience in the U.S. healthcare revenue cycle to join their team. This role is critical in managing unpaid claims, resolving denials, and optimizing cash flow for medical billing clients across the United States. The position operates on a night shift schedule from 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with a fixed weekend off. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong communication and technical skills relevant to medical billing.

Key Responsibilities
- Review medical claims thoroughly to ensure completeness, accuracy, and absence of missing information before processing.
- Monitor and follow up on pending or overdue claims using insurance portals, phone communication, and billing guidelines, including Medicare and Medicaid rules.
- Verify insurance payments against contracted fee schedules and investigate any discrepancies such as payment shortfalls or underpayments.
- Manage the entire denial management process, including preparing and filing formal appeals, and handling secondary or tertiary claims.
- Professionally respond to telephone inquiries from insurance agents and patients.
- Maintain detailed and organized notes on all accounts and generate daily and weekly accounts receivable performance reports using MS Excel.
- Collaborate regularly with team leads and managers to discuss operational challenges and progress toward goals.

Required Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of proven experience in U.S. medical billing, accounts receivable, denial management, and appeals processing.
- Proficiency with major Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing systems such as AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, Practice Fusion, OfficeAlly, EncoderPro, and payer portals.
- Strong computer skills, including good command of MS Excel, web fax applications, and efficient typing speed.
- Solid understanding of medical billing and coding principles, prior authorizations, and payer guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
