We are looking for a mid-senior level Accountant with 5 to 8 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years working directly with US-based clients. This full-time, onsite role is based in Lahore, Pakistan, with working hours aligned to US business hours (6:30 PM – 3:30 AM PKT). The ideal candidate will have strong English communication skills and be proficient in managing day-to-day accounting, tax, and payroll tasks for US clients across industries such as healthcare, e-commerce, and retail. Responsibilities include handling multiple client accounts, maintaining accurate books using QuickBooks, direct client communication, and supporting senior staff with tax filings, forecasting, and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full accounting cycle for multiple US clients, including maintaining the general ledger, performing month-end and year-end closings, and completing bank and account reconciliations. Prepare financial statements such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reports in accordance with US GAAP. Maintain audit-ready books using QuickBooks Online and Desktop.

Process US payroll for client employees, including deductions, benefits, pay runs, and preparation of W-2s and 1099s. Handle quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, including forms 941, 940, and relevant state filings. Utilize payroll platforms such as Gusto, ADP, QuickBooks Payroll, or Paychex.

Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and entities (LLCs, partnerships, S-Corps, C-Corps) under senior staff review. Manage multi-state sales tax matters including nexus checks, registrations, and filings. Support entity formation, registration, ongoing compliance, and respond to IRS and state notices.

Assist in building budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections. Conduct KPI and financial gap analyses to identify weaknesses and improvement opportunities. Support business valuations, due diligence processes, and preparation of lender/investor documentation.

Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned US clients via email, calls, and video conferencing. Clearly explain reports, tax deadlines, and accounting issues in simple English. Ensure compliance with US deadlines and maintain client data confidentiality. Identify discrepancies early and recommend corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5 to 8 years of professional accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years working directly with US clients. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop. Solid understanding of US GAAP, W-2/1099 reporting, and US payroll fundamentals.

Proven experience in month-end closings, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with confidence in client-facing interactions. Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Willingness to work onsite in Lahore during US business hours (night shift).

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA, EA, or equivalent are highly desirable; part-qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply. Practical experience preparing US federal, state, and sales tax returns is a plus. Familiarity with US payroll platforms including Gusto, ADP, Paychex, and QuickBooks Payroll is preferred.

Experience using tax software such as Drake, UltraTax, or Lacerte is advantageous. Exposure to financial forecasting, budgeting, gap analysis, and business valuation will be beneficial. Previous employment at a US CPA firm or outsourced accounting company is a strong plus. Industry experience in healthcare, e-commerce, or retail sectors is preferred.

This position offers the opportunity to grow into tax and advisory functions while working closely with US clients in a dynamic environment. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate expertise in US accounting systems and client communication.
