Accountant

An established international trade and commodities firm is seeking a full-time, onsite Accountant to join their team in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 3, Karachi. This role requires immediate joining and candidates must be available to work from the office, as work-from-home or hybrid arrangements, as well as applicants based outside Karachi, will not be considered. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 11 pm, with multiple shift options available.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records related to international trade operations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and handle foreign currency transactions efficiently.
- Verify export documentation and oversee commodity-related accounting activities, particularly for grains, cereals, produce, and other agricultural goods.
- Reconcile accounts involving customers, suppliers, and shipments to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with international trade accounting standards and maintain precise financial records for timely reporting.

Required Qualifications:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with overseas export companies is mandatory.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling accounts specifically for commodities such as grains, cereals, produce, or agricultural goods.
- Strong understanding of international trade accounting principles and export documentation processes.
- Experience managing invoices, payments, bank reconciliations, and maintaining comprehensive financial records.
- Knowledge of foreign currency transactions and accounts receivable/payable management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
- Excellent numerical accuracy, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Good command of written and verbal English communication.

Applicants lacking relevant experience in overseas export accounting or commodity-trading accounting will not be considered.
