This is a remote, client-facing role requiring full overlap with Eastern Standard Time (9 am to 5 pm). You will lead a team of four or more accountants while managing a portfolio of eCommerce client files, typically ranging from 10 to 25 clients depending on their size and complexity. The clients are primarily 7 to 9 figure eCommerce brands. You will be hands-on, reviewing work daily, running month-end closes within a strict five-day deadline, and communicating directly with founders. This role demands managing several month ends simultaneously and maintaining close collaboration with both your team and clients throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review the work of a team of accountants, providing direct feedback and performance conversations.
- Own full-cycle accounting across multiple client files, ensuring accuracy and logical consistency before financials reach clients.
- Run month-end close on a five-day cycle, meeting fixed deadlines consistently.
- Handle client communications, including managing expectations around delays or issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement automation where possible.
- Take ownership of gaps in existing processes and contribute to building out mature workflows.

Required Qualifications
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA, ACA, Contador Público, or an equivalent recognized in your country.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting within a firm or multi-client environment.
- At least 2 years of experience reviewing or managing other accountants’ work.
- Experience managing multiple separate client books, each with distinct deadlines and stakeholders (not multiple entities under one client).
- Proven track record of meeting fixed month-end deadlines; able to adapt to a strict five-day close cycle.
- Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks Online or Xero accounting software.
- Ability to perform accounting tasks independently, not just review others’ work.
- Strong English communication skills to engage directly with North American clients, including live calls.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working with eCommerce or consumer goods clients.
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification.
- Skills in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) or financial modeling.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as ClickUp or similar platforms.

Benefits
- Paid time off including personal days, statutory holidays based on your country, and year-end company closure.
- Company-sponsored certifications and internal training opportunities.
- Career growth with promotion from within based on performance and impact.
- Fully remote work environment with an async-first culture.

This role is not suitable if you prefer to step back from hands-on accounting, avoid difficult conversations with your team, or run your own accounting practice or freelance client book concurrently. Candidates who have only worked with rolling or flexible close deadlines, cannot commit to full EST hours, or seek a fully established process without room for improvement should reconsider applying.

The hiring process includes a brief application via an online form with short questions and a video submission, followed by a 30-minute introductory call with the People Team. Successful candidates will complete a practical assessment and a final 45-minute interview with accounting leadership before an offer is extended.
