Accounting Manager

A well-established diversified business group operating across Retail, Distribution, and Services sectors is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the accounting functions for a growing multi-unit barbershop organization. This full-time position is based in Clifton and involves managing financial reporting across multiple locations, overseeing intercompany transactions, and handling inventory and retail product accounting. The role focuses on maintaining the integrity of financial data, enhancing internal controls, driving process improvements, and providing insightful financial analysis to support sustainable business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations including reconciliation of POS, cash, and online sales.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll.
- Oversee inventory management for retail products and intercompany stock movements.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to deliver timely financial reports.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS standards, tax regulations, and internal company policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures to mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit inquiries effectively.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies or variances.
- Prepare management reports, budgets, forecasts, and conduct financial analyses to guide decision-making.
- Mentor, train, and supervise accounting team members to enhance performance and professional growth.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred; however, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualifications will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS financial reporting standards and internal control frameworks.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and QuickBooks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and financial reporting functions.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
