The Accounts & Finance Manager role, based remotely from Karachi, is responsible for overseeing comprehensive accounting and finance functions. This includes managing payroll, cash flow, budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and ensuring statutory compliance. The position supports management by delivering accurate financial insights, maintaining robust financial controls, optimizing costs, and contributing to strategic financial planning to promote financial stability and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations:
Manage daily accounting activities such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. Ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes. Supervise routine accounting tasks to maintain smooth financial operations, review transactions for accuracy, and keep financial records organized and up to date.

Payroll & Funds Management:
Oversee the entire payroll process, including salary calculations, deductions, disbursements, and payroll reporting, ensuring compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. Monitor cash flow to maintain sufficient liquidity for operational needs. Manage funds by handling cash positioning, payment scheduling, and working capital. Track upcoming financial obligations and ensure timely payments.

Budgeting, Cost Control & Analysis:
Develop department-wise budgets and monitor actual performance against these budgets. Conduct monthly cost analyses, identify significant variances, and investigate budget overruns with recommendations for corrective actions. Identify opportunities to reduce overhead and operational costs without compromising service quality. Analyze business performance to detect loss-making areas and suggest strategies to enhance profitability and financial efficiency.

Financial Analysis & Planning:
Analyze profitability across products, services, clients, departments, and business units. Provide financial insights to support business and operational decisions. Assist in formulating long-term financial plans aligned with organizational goals. Prepare scenario-based forecasts for expansion, investments, and cost optimization. Monitor financial trends and offer recommendations based on performance.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, tax laws, accounting standards, and internal controls. Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities. Support audits and resolve observations promptly. Maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Present annual financial reports and key insights to management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, including managing finance operations. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Hands-on experience with payroll, cash flow management, AP/AR, general ledger, and reconciliations. Solid understanding of tax and statutory compliance. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and accounting or ERP software. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion. Effective communication skills to present financial data to management. Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities within deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in marketing agencies, BPOs, technology firms, or service-based organizations. Background in managing finances across multiple departments, clients, or business units. Expertise in financial forecasting, profitability analysis, and cost optimization. Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
