Accounts Officer - Finance & Logistics Specialist - TJ / 1887499

Our client, O F Logistix, is seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Accounts Officer to join their Finance & Accounts team in Karachi. This position focuses on the road transport and logistics sector, requiring the candidate to maintain accurate accounting records, process various financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and support daily finance operations. The role demands strong analytical and numerical skills, proficiency in accounting principles, MS Excel, and accounting software, along with effective communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant experience and hold a graduate degree.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
- Record daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, invoices, expenses, and journal entries, ensuring prompt and precise entries.
- Prepare and maintain customer and vendor ledgers, regularly reconciling entries to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and reconcile accounts with customers and vendors to verify completeness.
- Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables to support timely payments and efficient cash flow management.
- Verify bills, payment requests, expense claims, and supporting documents before processing to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain detailed records of transportation and fleet-related expenses such as fuel and vehicle maintenance to assist in operational cost tracking.
- Assist in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely settlements and accurate record-keeping.
- Generate routine financial and management reports to aid senior management in decision-making and financial planning.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, financial reporting, and documentation preparation.
- Organize and file all financial records and documents properly to facilitate audits and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with operations and other departments to collect relevant financial data and resolve discrepancies in transactions.
- Assist with external and internal audits and tax filings by compiling necessary documentation and clarifying accounting records as required.
- Perform additional finance and accounting duties as assigned by management, contributing to continuous improvements in financial processes.

Required Qualifications

- Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the logistics or transport industry.
- Proficient in accounting principles and practices.
- Strong command of MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
