Our client, Sardar Group of Companies, is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant Manager based in Islamabad. This role is pivotal in managing the daily accounts payable functions, ensuring that invoice processing and vendor payments are handled accurately and promptly. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for verifying financial documents such as purchase orders, goods received notes (GRNs), contracts, and invoices before processing payments. Maintaining detailed vendor ledgers and performing regular reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and vendor satisfaction are key aspects of this position. The role also supports month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and the preparation of reports in compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards. Strict adherence to company policies, financial controls, and tax regulations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and precise invoice verification, processing, and payment.
- Review and validate invoices, purchase orders, GRNs, contracts, and supporting documents prior to payment.
- Maintain accurate vendor ledgers and conduct regular reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and confirm balances.
- Prepare payment requests and coordinate with relevant departments to obtain timely approvals for prompt disbursement.
- Monitor outstanding accounts payable to ensure payments are completed within approved timelines.
- Keep thorough and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions within ERP and accounting systems.
- Communicate and collaborate with vendors to resolve inquiries related to invoices, payments, outstanding balances, and discrepancies.
- Support month-end closing activities by assisting with reconciliations, data verification, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal financial controls, and applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies, working with relevant departments for swift resolution.
- Maintain organized financial documentation to support audit readiness and management reviews.
- Contribute to financial analysis by providing accurate data and supporting documentation as needed.
- Assist in audit coordination by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Participate in compliance management and risk assessment efforts to protect company assets and ensure regulatory adherence.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable or finance roles with a strong understanding of invoice processing and vendor payment management.
- Proficiency in reviewing and validating financial documents such as purchase orders, GRNs, contracts, and invoices.
- Experience with maintaining vendor ledgers and performing reconciliations.
- Familiarity with ERP and accounting systems for recording and tracking financial transactions.
- Strong knowledge of company financial policies, internal controls, and tax regulations.
