Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are a rapidly expanding US-based medical billing company seeking experienced Billing Specialists to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of healthcare providers by efficiently managing claims and accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in navigating insurance procedures to ensure timely payment and resolution of billing issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Claims Follow-up: Proactively contact insurance payers via phone or online portals to verify the status of unpaid or pending claims, ensuring timely resolution and payment.
- Denial Management: Review denied or rejected claims to identify root causes, prepare necessary documentation, and file appeals to recover owed revenue.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts by posting payments accurately and applying adjustments as needed to maintain precise financial records.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze aging reports to identify high-dollar or long-outstanding accounts, facilitating focused collection efforts.

Required Qualifications

- Knowledge: Strong proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, along with a thorough understanding of insurance guidelines including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
- Technical Skills: Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical billing software is essential. Familiarity with Tebra software is highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective negotiation and follow-up with insurance carriers.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates with an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field will be given preference.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Candidates with prior experience using Tebra billing software will have an advantage. We offer a competitive salary of up to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
