Accounts Team Lead

The Outsourced Expert is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead a team delivering accounting services to international clients. This role focuses on managing client communications, understanding and addressing client requirements, handling queries, and ensuring all deliverables meet agreed expectations and deadlines. The successful candidate will have strong accounting expertise, experience working with international clients, and proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks Online. Previous client-facing accounting or team leadership experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for international clients, managing daily communications, meetings, queries, and follow-ups.

Client Requirements: Understand client expectations, reporting needs, deadlines, and specific instructions, ensuring clear communication with the team.

Service Delivery: Coordinate and oversee accounting tasks to ensure deliverables meet client requirements, quality standards, and timelines.

Query and Issue Resolution: Address client concerns, resolve accounting-related queries, and proactively communicate progress or potential delays.

Accounting Oversight: Review bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reports, and month-end accounts to ensure accuracy and quality.

Team Leadership: Supervise and support the accounts team, allocate workloads, monitor performance, and ensure accountability for client deliverables.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term client relationships through professional communication, reliable service, and a thorough understanding of clients’ businesses.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting workflows, reporting, and service delivery based on client feedback and business needs.

Client Satisfaction and Retention: Engage proactively with clients, address concerns, gather feedback, and ensure services consistently meet expectations to strengthen trust and partnerships.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 4 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within an accounting firm or outsourced accounting environment.

- Experience in a similar role involving international client management, accounting delivery, and team coordination.

- Strong practical knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and other accounting tools.

- Experience working with international clients, preferably from Australia.

- Solid understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting.

- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, with confidence in conducting client meetings and managing queries independently.

- Strong organizational, problem-solving, time management, and team leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
